The Miscanthus floridulous is belongs to Poaceae, Subfam. Panicoideae A. Braun Trib. Andropogoneae Dumortier, Subtrib. Saccharinae Grisebach, Miscanthus Anderesson. miscanthus floridulous is a mesophytic masture. The results indicated that miscanthus floridulous was mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical zone in China. for example, Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Shaanxi and Zhejiang provinces. Its stem is thick, smooth and hairless with the height reaching 2m-4m, and the diameter of the stem can be 1cm.The period of its flowers and fruits is from May to November. Its stems and leaves can used as raw material for paper, and at its young stage, we can use them for feed. It is good for controlling sand and soil owing to its thick and strong fibrous root . Miscanthus floridulous has been used in the culture test in auricularia fuscosuccinea and agrocybe aegevita in China. In recent years, biomass renewable energy has been arousing extensive attention in European and American. miscanthus floridulous is a high photosynthesis C4 plant and owns high-yield of biomass,strong resistance,high cellulose content,full combustion,low ash content. So it is consider as a potential development energy plant in future.1. A reliable and effective method for miscanthus floridulous plant phenotypic traits determination and the cycle of plant growth was developed. The studies were made in the core collection about minscanthus in teaching and internship in cultivation land in Hunan Agriculture University, by observing,recording,amending and finally got a simple and effective method. With the improved method, we could save a lot of strength and improve grinding efficiency very much.2. Phenotypic diversity of 201 accessions of M.floridulus, collected from 10 provinces 119 counties, was evaluated by the traits of quantitative., it tries to describe the distribution about phenotype diversity and quantitative traits. The study of phenotypic diversity is invaluable for efficient utilization and conservation of Miscanthus floridulus. The results showed that (1) multiple comparisons and Analysis of varianceof phenotypic characters of miscanthus floridulous Significant differences in phenotypic traits among populations and within populations,except the nflorescence traits. (2) there were significant differences in phenotypic traits among populations and within populations, with CV% variations was from 2.8% to 70.4%.(3)The first three principal components explained 87.75% variations and the principal indicated that leaf traits was the main origin of phenotypic variation.(4)Correlations between geographic factors and phenotypic traits indicated that with the variation of geographic factors, the phenotypic traits had different variation trends.(5)According to the UPGMA cluster analysis, the populations of miscanthus floridulus in this study could be divided into three groups. The first group was Hunan and Jiangxi populations; the second group was Fujian,Guangdong,Guangxi,Hubei and Guizhou populations; the third group was Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang populations.
