Bdellovibrio are predators of other bacteria. The prey range of Bdellovibrio is very wide .It not only can lyse some common bacteria,for example E.coli Salmonella,but also the fish pathogenic strains Aeromonas Proleus and Pseudomonas. They lyse the pathogenic strains stronger than others. Thanks to the Bdellovibrio's unique biological characteristics of parasitic ability and wide prey range, as a biological reagent compared with side-effect inducing antibiotics, it will be a wise choice of using Bdellovibrios to eliminate or suppress the pathogens. As a kind of living creaster decontamination factor,Bdellovibrio has good parasitism, wide host range and no residue. In general state of health, Bdellovibrio could split mostly family and genus of Gram-negative bacteria. Scholars of domestic and abroad also reported the biological characteristics and its application of Bdellovibrio from sea and fresh water, but report on reinforcing the ability of Bdellovibrio by induction has never been seen.One plaque-forming bacteria was isolated from a fresh river in Fujian Province based on double-agar technique and using SWBC as host, it was eventually affirmed as Bdellovibrios thanks to transmission electric microscopy(TEM) and specified PCR amplification ,designated as FJ3W. The Experiment used BD FJ3W as primitive strain, applied UV and added LiCl, infrared radiation to induct its telotroch, in order to strengthen the solution function of BD FJ3W. Finally got a mutated strain named FJ3M1, which can lyse several bacteria such as D12, SD4 and D2,which cannot be lysed by the original strain FJ3W. The lysis spectrum of two Bdellovibrios (FJ3W and FJ3M1) to 33 pathogens or potential pathogens were also studied, to evaluated the differences between two Bdellovibrios (FJ3W and FJ3M1. And also carried out an experiment to compare the difference in time spent on elimination of the specific strain Salmonella typhimurium of two Bdellovibrios (FJ3W and FJ3M1). All the results showed that the mutant strain (FJ3M1) got a much more powerful lysis ability than the original strain (FJ3W).The experiments showed that it is feasible to improve the lysis ability of fresh water BD by UV. The experiments screened one mutagenesis Bdellovibrio which could split more bacteria (D12, SD4 and D2) and with better lysis ability. The lysis ability comparison of BD FJ3W and its UV induction bacteria FJ3M1 showed that FJ3M1 has a wider lysis spectrum and possibility to lyse strains more quickly than FJ3M1.
