There is a close relationship between mycorrhiza and forestry industry. Mycorrhiza is one of the most important component to the adjustation and improvement of forest sustainable management. It can improve the growth and biomass of seedlings effectively by means of artificial inoculation with mycorrhiza. This research is mainly intended to give a evaluation on the growth-promoting effect of several elite ectomycorrhizal fungi (ECM fungi) which were screened by our term according to inoculating them on pines and poplars. Meanwhile, this paper studies the preparation and preservation of capsules microbial agent, and attempts to apply the capsules microbial agent on pines. The results are as follows:1 Rhizopogon luteous(Rl), Boletus edulis(Be) improve the survival rate of Pinus elliottii significantly. Height growth of Pinus elliottii which were inoculated with Rl, Be or the dual inoculation with Rl and Be significantly increased faster than control group(Ck). The ground diameter growth increasement of Pinus elliottii which were inoculated with Be showed significant difference compared with Ck. In a word, Be takes a better performance on promoting the growth of Pinus elliottii.2. The tissue culture seedlings of Pinus densiflora at different ages which were inoculated with ECM fungi grow faster than Ck. Compared with Ck, Rl and Be had an significant growth-promoting effect on the eighth generation of 1-A family. The ground diameter growth of the fifth generation of 1-A family also increased significantly. The nineth generation of 1-A family which were inoculated with ECM fungi grow faster than Ck too.3.The field application effect of Xerocomus chrysenteron (Xc), Lactarius insulsus (Li), Rl and Be inoculated on poplars in Zhenjiang indicated that these fungi decreased the incidence of poplar canker disease and incresed the afforestation survival rate. Especially, the survival rate of poplars that were inoculated with R1 come up to 95.3%; Compared with Ck, height growth of poplars which were inoculated with ECM fungi showed significant difference.4. In Huaian area, Poplars which were inoculated with Xc and Li had higher survival rate. Compare with Ck which was only 53.8%, the planting survival rate of inoculated poplars ranged from 75% to 90.2%. These two fungi increased the height growth of poplars significantly and promoted the growth of the diameter at breast height to a certain degree.5. When the volume ratio of ECM fungi to sodium alginate was 2:5, the amount of mycelium reached the peak. The biomass of mycelium of Xc, Be, Rl ,Li reached their maximum when they are entrapped in sodium alginate in the pH 4, pH 4, pH 5and pH 7 respectively; In preservation solution, activity of four kinds of capsules microbial agent slightly decreased when preserved at 4℃after 9 months. When preserved in the sterile water, activity of Xc, Be, Rl capsules microbial agent were higher than corresponding treatment that preserved in normal saline, while Li was the opposite case; Activity of Be, Li, Xc capsules microbial agent decreased slightly when they preserved in zip-lock bag at 4℃after 7 months. However, they lost vitality in turn when they preserved at room temperature.6. The application of Rl and Be capsules microbial agent inoculated on Pinus massoniana Lamb. were effective. Biomass and growth increased more than Ck. It was even better when applied with the mixture of Rl and plant growth-promoting bacteria. Solid-microbial agent can obtain more economic benefit compared with capsules microbial agent.
