The research carried out in northeast agricultural university in 2008-2009, L.caerulea subsp.Kamtschatica,L.boczkarnikowii,L.caerulea var. edulis,L.caerulea subsp.pallasii,L.caerulea subsp.altaicai,EYL-1 were adopted as material, Air humidity levels were controlled to be RH45 %, RH55 %, RH65 %, RH75 % respectively to research the appearance of blue honeysuckle growth, photosynthesis and leaf physiological and biochemical changes in different air humidity, and explore the influence of air humidity on blue honeysuckle. Main results showed below:1 The effect of air humidity on growth and physiological characteristics of blue honeysuckle was significant. Electronic conductivity, soluble sugar content, MDA and free proline content were increasing when the air humidity going down and processing continuing. But relative high growth rate, the net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and the relative water content of leaves were reducing when the air humidity doing down. Their range abilities were not the same in different types and varieties.2 In the condition RH75 %, relative high growth rate and net photosynthetic rate were fast, transpiration rate and the relative water content changed little; Enzyme activity, the relative electrical conductivity, MDA, proline and soluble sugar content changed gently, beneficial to the growth of blue honeysuckle. This air humidity condition is suitable for the growth of blue honeysuckle.3 L.caerulea subsp.altaicai had a better adaptability to low air humidity condition. RH55% had small effect on its growth and physiological indexes; Relative high growth rate was 24.55%; Net photosynthetic rate was 5.17μmol·m-2·s-1; The change extent of relative water content of leaves was 17.01%; Leaf relative electric conductivity, malondialdehyde and soluble sugar content increased slowly in the treatment, 10.05%, 23.27% and 9.85% respectively.4 The growth of EYL-1 displayed well in the conditions RH65% as relatively high growth 29.38%;Net photosynthetic rate was 5.94μmol·m-2·s-1;Leaf relative conductivity increased 10.71% and malondialdehyde content increased 11.94% after treatment.5 L.caerulea subsp.altaicai has a good adaptation to low air humidity. The offspring of it EYL-1 also growed well in low air humidity condition. Therefore, it can be regarded as a good breeding material to cultivate varieties growing normally in low air humidity condition.
