Through the drug treatment methods of NO donor sodium nitroprusside (SNP), NOS inhibitor L-NMMA and the NO scavenger PTIO, the nitric oxide(NO) production and the regulating role of oxidative damage of NO were preliminary studied on the wheat when the seedings of wheat(Jin mai NO.8)were enhanced UV-B radiated radiation (10.08kJ·m-2·d-1). The results were showed as follows:1)Through measurement the root length and plant height of various treatment groups to study the NO in wheat seeding enhanced UV-B radiation .UV-B radiation can inhibit the growth of wheat, and B+SNP would alleviate the growth inhibition of wheat induced by UV-B radiation, while this alleviation role could be reversed when treated by B+PTIO and B+L-NMMA,SNP separately inhibited the growth of wheat, which was similar to UV-B radiation stress. It showed that NO involved in the regulation of the growth of wheat seedlings inducer by enhanced UV-B radiation stress. 2)The effect of NO on the antioxidant system of wheat seedlings was studied through measurement of the enzyme system and non-enzymatic antioxidants.UV-B+SNP could alleviate oxidative damage of wheat seedling induced by UV-B radiation by way of affecting the enzyme system and non-enzymatic antioxidants. While the treatment B+PTIO and B+L-NMMA could inhibit this alleviation effect.SNP separately could result in oxidative damage of wheat seedling, which wai similar to UV-B radiation stress. It showed that NO involved in the regulation of antioxidant system in wheat seedlings induced by enhanced UV-B radiation stress.3)B+SNP could alleviate the inhibition of nitrogen metabolism related enzymes in wheat through regulating the activities of them, while this alleviation effect could be reversed by B+PTIO and B+L-NMMA.SNP separately had an inhibitation effect on nitrogen metabolism related enzymes of wheat. It illustrated that NO involved in the regulation of nitrogen metabolism related enzymes of wheat seedlings induced by enhanced UV-B radiation stress.
