Gastrointestinal parasites of dogs were a major threat to health of dogs.It not only brought huge economic loss to the owners but also badly harmed human health. Through epidemiological investigation of dogs gastrointestinal parasites in Jinzhou, we could prevent gastrointestinal parasites to threaten dogs health.It provided important reference for clinical parasitic diagnosis.From August 2009 to July 2010,Atotal of 1084 dogs from pet clinics, dog markets, households, veterinary hospital and dog breeding farm in JinZhou, HeiShan, BeiZhen, LingHai, YiXian were Investigated of Intestinal Parasite Infection with the method of precipitation,floatation,The survey results were as follows:There were 8 kinds of dogs gastrointestinal parasites in Jinzhou: Clonorchis sinensis, Multiceps multiceps,Dipylidium caninum,Taenia hydatigena,Toxocara canis,Ancylostoma caninum,Trichuris vulpis and Isopoda canis.Isopoda canis and Clonorchis sinensis were the strains newly discovered in Jinzhou.The multiple infection rate of dogs gastrointestinal parasites was 61.53%. The infection rate of two kinds of gastrointestinal parasites was 21.96%, The triple infection rate of gastrointestinal parasites was 17.07%. Toxocara canis was the dominant parasite and the infection intensity was as high as 50.83%.The results showed that the highest pathogenic rates of gastrointestinal parasites appeared in households and most infecting occurred in August to October.The multiple infection rates of dogs gastrointestinal parasites was parallel in different regions.It was independent of species and sex.puppies could be infected more easily by gastrointestinal parasites.Vermifugal Experiment with nitazoxanide against Ascaris lumbricoides of 25 dogs naturally infected with Ascaris lumbricoides.NTZ low-dose group(50mg/kg), NTZ middle-dose group(100mg/kg),NTZ high-dose group(150mg/kg),experimental control group(exposed no drugs).ivermectin dose group(0.2mg/kg).The results illustrated that treating with single dose of 100mg/kg nitazoxanide in succession had a favorable effect on the dogs infected with Ascaris lumbricoides,There were no Ascaris lumbricoides ova any more after 3d.The trial in fields for expellenting Isospora canis of 20 dogs were carried were tested:NTZ:low-dose group(50mg/kg),NTZ middle-dose group(100mg/kg),NTZ high-dose group(150mg/kg),experimental control group(exposed no drugs). sulfameter dose group(25mg/kg)The results illustrated that treating with 100mg/kg NTZ one times a day with the course of 3 days had a favorable effect on the dogs infected with Isospora canis,There were no Isospora cysts any more after 3d.
