According to the differentiation standards of TCM, the patients were divided into two groups: cold type asthma and heat type asthma. In addition, 30 cases of healthy children were taken as control group. The level of serum total IgEs interleukin-4(IL-4), serum cortisol and a -granule membrane protein on the surface of platelets were measured. Besides, we analysed the relationship between the above indexes and TCM different asthma types. The results included: 1, Compared with control group, during asthma attack, both cold and heat type of TCM in childhood asthma, the level of serum total IgE, interleukin-4> a -granule membrane protein on the surface of platelets increased significantly(p<0.01), serum cortisol decreased greatly (p<0.01). 2, The comparing between cold and heat type of childhood asthma, the level of serum total IgE, a -granule membrane protein on the surface of platelets increased significantly (p<0.01), serum cortisol decreased greatly (p<0.01), IL-4 had some difference, but didn't have too significant. All the results indicated: (1) During childhood bronchial asthma attack, the increasing of the level of serum total IgE may be the immunlogical basis of TCM pathogenesis with "deficiency of constitution, retension of phlegm and fluid". The level of IgE in coldtype of childhood asthma increased significantly compared with heat type, which relate to patients different constitution and pathogens different change. (2)The increasing of IL-4 may be the one of emobodies of imbalance of Yin and Yang and dificiency of Vital-Qi. (3)The decreasing of serum cortisol could relate to kidney vacuity in childhood asthma patients.The level of serum cortisol in cold type decreased significantly compared with heat type. (4)The increasing of a -granule membrane protein on the surface of platelets was the symbol of blood stasas in childhood asthma patients.The emobodies of blood stasis in cold type signified compared with heat type. The kidney vacuity and blood stasis could thought to be the basic of important pathogenetic factor of patients, tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis must be the most important therapies in childhood asthma from being to end.
