Clinical observation of 80 adult cases shows that there is a marked increase of the occurrence of acid regurgitation and belching in the group of over 30 years than the group of 18-35 years. Frequency of abdominal distention also incline to ascend with aging. Frequencies of soft stools are notably higher in the 18 35years and 36?SOyears than those of the cases of over 50 years. Compared with the I 8?5 years, defecation of the over 50 years is less likely to be once a day, but liable to be less or more than once a day. The analysis of characters stools and times of defecation shows that frequencies of soft stools, qd (one time per day) in over 50 years markedly decrease than in the I 8?5s, while those of loose stools, more than once a day in over 50 years greatly increase. Apply The Microcomputer Test-analysing System for Electric Activitices of Gastroenteric Tract to study and analyze the frequency spectrum. Result: main frequency of fasting EGG(electrogastrogram) and age are obvious negative correlation 3 by aging. By calculating change trend of main frequency of EGG corresponding to aging based on linear regression equation, we e learned that representative value of main frequency of fasting EGG of the elderly (for example 2.3 8cpm at the age of 80,and 2.90cpm) markedly reduce tha~i the young. Linear regression equation based on activity capacity of EGG corresponding to aging and calculation of representative value of age-related activity capacity of EGG shows that Activity capacity of fasting EGG of fasting in resting state tends to descend with aging. For example the 80 years old (4 units) is half of the 20 years old (8 units). This explains partial mechanism of the increase of dyspepsia in the elderly. Studies and analysis of ECG(electrocolontrogram) and linear regression shows that along with aging, frequency of postprandial low frequency segment ECG of ascending, descending and sigmoid colon incline increasing; frequency of postprandial of high frequency segment of ascending and descending colon, and that of contractibility complex electrocity of ascending, descending and sigmoid colon tend to decrease. Namely frequency range of ECG movement contracts. This result explains partial mechanism of the increased occurrence of abnormal stools of the middle-aged and the elderly. Weakened Electric Physiology and motor function Of Gastroenteric and some gerontal illness can induce or aggravate disorder of Gastroentcric function. which manifests as symptoms of dyspepsia and abnormal defecation. So we should pay more attention to the middle-aged and the elderly's health care of Gastroenteric function. Also else diseases bring influence to function of alimentary tract. Analyse also shows that rate of spleen-stomach excess type, such as disharmony between liver and stomach, and qi stagnation of liver and intestine tends to decreas with aging. But rate of spleen-stomach deficiency type such as qi deficiency of spleen-stomach and constipation caused by qi deficiency inclines to increase. Frequencies of loose stools due to those of the 36O years and the over 50 years increase notably than those of the group of 18-35 years. Syndrome of blenging of deficiency and excess tends to increase for example, liver-qi stagnation and spleen deficiency or decrease for example, disharmony between the liver and spleen with a...
