| Insomnia is a type of illness which affects people's health severely. In view of traditional Chinese medicine, the reason of insomnia of 80 percent of the people who suffered from it derived from Ganyu. So the objective of the experiment is to find out the hypnotic formula from Sinisan, which is effective in curing Ganyu symptom.At first, we did some relative tests to find that the threshold value of Pentobarbital sodium is 50mg/kg.Then, after seven successive days of making rats to take herbs orally(the control group were given distillated water ), we injected Pentobarbital sodium of threshold value into rats by their abdominal cavity to make them to sleep, and the index of the experiment is rats' average total sleep duration. And then we adopted relative data, which were statistized by means of t-test. After a series of work, we found Sinisan can lengthen rats' total sleep time.In the end, we came to the conclusion that Sinisan is the hypnotic formula.
