[OBJECTIVE] To study the curative effects of 2% glutaraldehyde pulpotomy for the pulpitis of primary motar teeth in order to provide the evidences for clinic. [METHODS] 104 cases of primary motar teethes were selected and randomly divided into the upper jaw and lower jaw groups according to their position. Using the 2% glutaraldehyde pulpotomy, the curative effects of three and six months after operation were comparatively analyzed with following up the patients.[RESULTS] (1) Total effective rate of six months after operation was 96.15% by using the 2% glutaraldehyde pulpotomy; (2) The curative effects of postoperative six months were better than that of three months and there had a significant difference between two groups(P﹤0.05); (3) The curative effects for the upper jaw was better than that for the lower jaw and there had a significant difference(P﹤0.05). [CONCLUSION] (1) The 2% glutaraldehyole pulpotomy has the function of killing bacteria and could cure deep caries and early pulpitis; (2) The curative effects of six months after operation is better than that of three months and of upper jaw is better than that of lower jaw by using 2% glutaraldehyole pulpotomy; (3) The prognosis of 2% glutaraldehyole pulpotomy depends on selecting indication and the patient's cooperation in the course of operation; (4) It must be early performed with the root canal therapy that the cases of further developing apicitis, the absorption of root apiex is over 1/3, the pulp necrosis and periapical disease.
