Objective: To evaluate effect of recombinant human growth hormone(γ-hGH) on human colonic cancer cells(COLO-320). Methods: COLO-320 cells were cultured for 24h,48hor72h with variant concentrations of γ-hGH or CPT and γ-hGH combined CPT in calf serum or calf serum-free,light density of cells were determined by MMT method,so that cellular inhibitory rate (fa) were calculated.Results: No effect on cells growth or inhibition undergoing variant concentrations and times of γ-hGH (P>0.05), whether cells were cultured with calf serum or calf serum-free in vitro. Inhibitory rate of single CPT or CPT combined γ-hGH were much more increased than single γ-hGH used (P<0.01),while the effect of single CPT and CPT combined γ-hGH used has no difference.Conclusions: The results show that γ-hGH had neither direct COLO-320 cells stimulation nor any evidence of COLO-320 cells inhibition, and no effect CPT on COLO-320 cells inhibition also in vitro.
