As the traditional method of physical fitness measurement isn't easy to carry out and popularize,this paper is to research the new static method of physical fitness measurement based on body composition measurement and HRV (heart rate variability) analysis. The study includes three parts:(l) Researching on the new static method of physical fitness measurement. (2) Developing an experimental instrument. (3) Making some experiments by the instrument to prove the feasibility of the new method.Based on the research on the present methods of body composition measurement by BIA (Bioelectrical impedance analysis),we put forward the improved method of body composition measurement and take it as an important method to evaluate physical fitness. It is found that there exists significant correlation between heart rate and physical fitness through the study of physiology of physical fitness. So HRV is also selected as a way to evaluate physical fitness.The experimental instrument has been developed in order to validate our ideas on physical fitness measurement. It is incorporated with weighting,measuring body composition and analyzing HRV. The hardware is based on MPU. The circuits can magnify the weighting sensor signals,the-bioelectrical impedance signals,ECG signals and detect the QRS. There are the LCD and interface circuits. The software is based on C programming language. It includes the body weight measurement module,fat measurement module,HRV analysis module and LCD display module,etc. The experimental instrument works well and meets our requirements.We have made some experiments to validate the feasibility and validity of the improved method measuring body composition and the new method measuring physical fitness. From the results of the experiments on athletes and ordinary people,we can see that the unproved method measuring body composition is of feasibility and it is of validity to measure physical fitness by measuring body composition and analyzing heart rate variability. The new method has the good future. Because of the limited conditions our work will be improved by increasing the experiment samples and necessary physiological parameters. We will gradually make the new method available for practical use.
