Osteoarthritis(OA) is very common among aged and middle-aged people and has a rising incidence in recent years. It belongs to the category of TCM "arthralgia syndrome", "arthralgia with other joint symptoms", "aching in the loins and legs". At present, western medicine havn't had good treating way with it and only depended issteroid medicine on relieving syndrome with aching-part. But, if take it long, issteroid medicine could cause serious toxic effect such as gastric ulcer, gastric bleeding, injure of the liver and kidney and so on. TCM had a rich experiences and good effect on treating OA. As a result, it is important that researching medicine law for treating OA with TCM ancient docments.My research is based on an amount of ancient and morden TCM docments. There were discriminatial evidence with works, prescriptions, consilian for treating OA in the Ming-qing dynasty. By collecting and arranging with these docments, we built a database system and carried deep research on medicine law of 270 prescriptions,to which we use the methods of mathematics-statistics and analytics-introduction. The findings as follows: the nature of medicine was mostly warm property, acrid, mild; the channel-tropism of medicine was mostly liver, spleen, kidney; the functions of these medicine were mainly focused on supplent liver and kidney, promote blood circulation to stop pain, warm and stengthen yang. Through adopting the R-kind systems collect analysis, we abtained basic medicines in prescriptions with treating OA. There are an active inflence on today's treating.According to the findings, we hoped that we would be able to provide new thinking and expierence with compatibility of medicines-formulation prescriptions and screening-using medicine for treating OA with TCM today.
