Objective: To determine the value of spiral nasointestinal tube in postoperative patients with intractable gastroparesis. Methods: Ten patients with failure of gastrointestinal decompression and gastrointestinal prokinetic drugs were documented intractable gastroparesis by contrast examination. These patients were placed spiral nasointestinal tube in distal duodenum or efferent loop of jejunum through gastrofibroscope, and nutrition was instilled through the tube. Results : Ten patients recovered the function of gastric emptying gradually in short time, and could take food normally. Conclusion: It is an ideal measure in patients with intractable gastroparesis at present to place spiral nasointestinal tube to supply enteral nutrition.
