Objective The morphological development of digestive tract mainly took place from the day 11 th to 17 th of mouse embro. There were very closely relationship between the cell proliferation, cell apoptosis and the morphological development of digestive tract. This study was to observe the expression of apoptosis related proteins P53,Bcl-2,Bax and PCNA in the epithelial cells of esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon at the day 11 th to 17 th of mouse fetus, to observe the expression time-sequence of these proteins and the relationship among of them, to analyze the relationship between the expression of these proteins and the morphogenesis of the embyo digestive tract. Methods The male and female mice mate, the mouse fetus from day 11 th to 17 th were taken. The samples were fixed, embeded with paraffin wax and sectioned continuously, and then one section was taken from each 10 in the continuous-sections, one by one, pasted these sections on the glass. It came to be the intermittent continuous-sections, finallystained with HE.The esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon were located in the continuous-sections by observeing the HE staining intermittent continuous-sections under light microscope. According to the location, the sections of esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon were selected from the continuous-sections, pasted on the glass, stained with the SABC method of immunocytochemistry, to show the expression of apoptosis related proteins P53,Bcl-2,Bax and PCNA in the epithelium of esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. Image analysier was used to detect the products-intensity of each section, to analyzise the expression time-sequence of these proteins and the relationship among them, to study the relationship between the expression of these proteins and the morphogenesis of the embyo digestive tract. Results ①The peak-expression of Bcl-2 in the epithelium of esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon all were at day 11 th to 13 th. At day 14 th, the expression level began to drop. There was weakly expression at day 16 th to 17 th. ②The peak-expression of P53 in the epithelium of four segments of digestive tract were at day 11 th to 14 th. At day 15 th, the expression level began to drop, and then kept weakly expression at day 16 th to 17 th. ③The peak-expression of Bax in the esophagus epithelium was at day 11 th, and decreased gradually after then. The peak-expression of Bax in the epithelium of stomach and smallintestine were both at day 14 th. The peak-expression of Bax was at day 15th in the epithelium of colon. ④The peak-expression of PCNA in the epithelium of esophagus and stomach were both at day 11 th and decrease guadully after then. The peak-expression of PCNA in the small intestine and colon epithelium were at day 14 th and day 15 th respectively. ⑤ After the peak-time (at day 11th~13th) of Bcl-2 expression in the epithelium of stomach , small intestine and colon, there were the peak-time (at day 14 th,day 15th respectively)of Bax expression in these segments of digestive tract; the peak-time of Bax expression in the epithelium of small intestine and colon was just the peak-time of their epithelial apoptosis; the peak-time of P53 expression in the stomach and intestine epithelium was coincidence with the peak-time of Bcl-2 expression, but was discrepancy with the peak-time of Bax expression. Conclusion ①There was difference of the expression time-sequence of Bax in the epithelium of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. ②The results of expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in the epithelium of four segments of digestive tract demonstrated: Bcl-2 may have a role in suppressing cell apoptosis in the epithelium of fetus mouse digestive tract, Bax may have a role in promoting cell apoptosis. ③The results of expression of P53 in the epithelium of four segments of digestive tract show: P53 do not have close relationship with the control of epithelialcells apoptosis in fetus-mouse digestive tract. ④The peak-time of Bc...
