Background: Post-operative peritoneal adhesion is the main reason of adhesive ileus. Methylene blue has great action of anti-peritoneal adhesion. But there is no report and study about the reliability on the using methylene blue when there are some complex conditions in the abdominal cavity. Methods: 40 rabbits were divided into 5 groups randomly. 4 groups operated the rupture of intestine neoplasty. First 3 groups were the purely neoplasty, and the last group was the neoplasty under the abdominal infection. Except the contrast group, other groups were intraperitoneal injected the methylene blue, methylene blue+metronidazole. 7 days later killed the rabbits and observed the peritoneal adhesion in the rabbits; estimated the hydroxyproline and collagen fibers on the intestine.Result: Groups which used the methylene blue have lower-grade peritoneal adhesion than the other group(P<0.05), and the contents of hydroxyproline and collagen fibers on the intestine were higher than the common group(p<0.05). Conclusion: â‘ 0.05%methylene blue has great action of anti-peritoneal adhesion; â‘¡0.05%methylene blue has no effect on the healing of the rupture of the intestine; â‘¢0.05%methylene blue has no auxo-action on the infection diffusing.
