[Objective] To valuate prognostic value of a rest rictive left ventricular filling in acute myocardial infarct ion (AMI). [Methods] 95 patients with AMI were anal yzed by the transmittal flow pattern on admission by mea ns of ultrasonic cardiograph system. [Results] 19 case s had a restrictive transmittal flow pattern. The ratio of peak E and peak A velocities of mitral valve was great er than 1.6, and E wave deceleration time was shorter th an 180ms in the cases with the restrictive transmittal flo w pattern. Heart-failure occurrence rate were 42% in th e cases with the restrictive transmittal flow pattern and 11% in non-restrictive pattern (p<0.01) respectively. Mo rtalities in-hospital were 32% in the cases with the restri ctive pattern and 7% in the cases with the non-restrictiv e pattern (p<0.01) respectively. [Conclusion] Restricti ve left ventricular filing in AMI was an independent pro gnostic factor of early outcome.
