A bioassay through detecting deformation or growth inhibition of mycelia geminated from conidia Pyricularia oryzae, a plant pathogenic fungus was efficiently applied for the primary screening of antitumor and antifungi agents from metabolites of marine microorganisms. So far, 120 microorganisms were isolated from yellow sea , bohai sea and offing of Liaoning province of China, and four of them with stable bioactivity were obtained. The four strains were identified as Paecilomyces sp. AESP0035, Penicillium sp. AESP0059, Paecilomyces sinensis AESP0072, Bacillus marinus AESP0087 respectively. Due to the best and stable activity of Paecilomyces sinensis AESP0072, twelve compounds were obtained from metablites of Paecilomyces sinensis AESP0072 by activity-guided method.By physicochemical evidence and spectroscopic methods, the structures of the ten compounds were elucidated as 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic aciddipentyl ester (3), 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid bis(2-methylheptyl)ester (4), hexadecanoic acid (5), cholestan-3-ol (6), 3-methoxy-(3 P ,24 )-stigmast-5-ene (7), 3-(1'-carboxyvinyloxy)benzoic acid (8), butanedioic acid (9), 2,4-(lH, 3H)-pyrimidinedione (10), 1- -D-ribofuranosyl-2,4(lH, 3H)-pyri-midione (11), 2'-deoxy-(l-(2-deoxy- -D-erythro-pentofuranosyl)uracil) (12). The possible structures of the other two compounds were elucidated as 1-hentertracontanol and 1,2-dibromododecane approximately. Among them, compounds 3, 4 are two new natural products. Compounds 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,12 were isolated from this specie for the first time.Compound 2 could induce morphological deformation of conidia of P. oryzae. Compound 8 could inhibit the germination of conidia of P. oryzae.. Compound 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 showed weak effect on curling of mycelia of P. oryzae. Additionally, compound 2 showed strong activity against C. albicans. Compound 8 showed weaker activity against C. albicans. All the compounds showed no activities against B. subtilis and B. pumilus.
