Aims: To explore the value of Foscarnet sodium in acute liver injury model of rats induced by BCG. Methods: Foscarnet sodium (PFA) was injected to abdominal cavitis of rats within 10 days, after induced by BCG. Then an experimental acute liver injury model of rats was established by ip injection of LPS. These was detected that glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (GPT), glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase(GOT), T Lymphocytic cell, Tumo necrosis factor(TNFu), IL-6, IL-10 in rats blood serum and the pathological pattern of liver and kidney by routine biochemistry ways, ELISA, flow cytometer counting or hematoxylin and eosin staining technique. Results:1. It is suitable that GPT and GOT were stepped up clearly when viable BCG 5×107bacilli/rat/once, ip injection, 10 days before assay and LPS 30 micrograms/kg body wt/once, ip injection,8 hr before the assay were used for establishing immunity acute liver injury model of rats. "III" grade (extensive liver cellular necrosis with hemorrhage, about 1/3-2/3, inflammation dip like sheet shape) and "IV" grade (extensive liver cellular necrosis with hemorrhage, above 2/3, mass inflammation dip) were more than 70% liver in pathological classify. 2. No PFA 150mg/kg and 300mg/kg but 600mg/kg body wt might decrease GPT in model rats serum. PFA might decrease activity tite of CD8+. Tite of CD8+ in PFA 600mg/kg body wt group was obviously lower than model group but CD3+and CD4+ higher. Tite of CD8+, CD3+and CD4+ in PFA 600mg/kg body wt group was obviously lower than cyclophosphamide(CP) group. PFA 150mg/kg and 300mg/kg but 600mg/kg body wt increased levels of serum TNFu of model rats. No PFA 150mg/kg and 300mg/kg but 600mg/kg body wt group might decrease levels of IL-6 of model rats serum compared with control group. 600mg/kgbody wt group might increase serum levels of IL-10 compared with control group but no PFA 150mg/kg and 300mg/kg wt groups. All groups of PFA might relieve the acute liver injury of model rats compared with control group. 600mg/kg body wt group might result in reversible injury to renal tubule. Conclusion: Foscarnet sodium in acute liver injury model of rats induced by BCG+PLS may relieve the degree of inflammation . It has a significantprotective effect on liver cell injury induced by BCG+PLS.
