For the study of Zeng Shirong's contribution to pediatrics and his essential clinical experiences, Zeng's academic origin, the pediatric achievement and the impact to the later were researched according to his academic work.Literature research: As for whether Huo You Xin Shu and Huo You Kou Yi are the works of Zeng's, through consulting historical chronicles and local chronicles, comparing the difference between two books, the conclusion was: Huo You Kou Yi is not Zeng's academic work, only Huo You Xin Shu is .Academic origin: Zeng's academic ideas was derivered from Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic, followed hereditary doctor Liu Shifu and Dai Kechen, an imperial doctor in Song Dynasty, and also absorbed academic essences and clinic experiences from QianYi,Chen Wenzhong,and other doctors.Academic thoughts and Influence: In the four methods of diagnotics, Zeng Shirong paid attention to observation and palpation, advocated combining clour and pluse, He dispelled evils actively and was good at using the method of dispelling evils carefully, and laid stress on recuperating spleen and stomach; Zeng Shirong made some contribution to the four major syndrome of pediatrics and particularly, he was good at the treatment of infantile convulsion; He emphasized on treatment based upon syndrome differentiation; used medicine precisely and flexibly, and his prescriptions were concise and mild, meanwhile he recommended prophylaxis and health care of child. Zeng's academic quitessence was adopted by the following doctors, especially by the eclectic of pediatrician.
