| Objective To observe the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and nm23 in human non-small cell lung career (NSCLC) with invasion and metastasis, to clarify the relationship between their expression and CT manifestations of NSCLC.Methods Immunohistochemical S-P technique were used to detect the expression level of MMP-9, nm23 in 48 cases of NSCLC examined with CT scan before operation, which of 28 cases of lung squamous carcinoma , 16 cases of lung adenocarcinoma and 4 cases of the other type identified pathologically. The different expression of MMP-9, nm23 and the CT signs were analysed correlatively in NSCLC with invasion and metastasis. Results The results showed that the total positive rate of expression of MMP-9 and nm23 proteins in patients with NSCLC was 81.25% and 79.17%, respectively. The expressional level of MMP-9, nm23 gene was not correlated with TNM stages of cancer, type of histological classification, degree of cell differentiation, mass with diameter >4 cm, spiculation, spine, pleural indentation from lung caner(P>0.07) . There were significant differences between MMP-9 expression and the signs of vacuole, deep lobulation and tumor metastasis ( x2 value 9.1,7.87 and 7.78, respectively. P<0.05=. Nm23 overexpression was not related to (P>0.05) .Conclusion The signs of deep lobulation and vacuole were correlated with the different expression of MMP-9 on the NSCLC, and may act as the CT sign for predicting the possibility of metastasis of NSCLC, but not with nm23 gene. |
