Objective In order to study the clinical significance of the changes of prolactin(PRL) and thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) in thyrotropin-releasing hormone(TRH) provocative test after acute craniocerebral injury. Methods After intravenous injection of 500ug TRH in 28 male patients with acute craniocerebral injury, the changes of PRL and TSH at 0,30,60,90 minutes were observed by the method of microparticle and enhanced chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay, using t test to analyse data within groups and between groups, using Spearman Correlation to analyse correlation between the changes of climactic indexes/basic indexes and GCS.Results Compared with the hormone levels of the PRL and TSH unprovocated, there were climacticly and significantly changed at 30 minutes in all patients, and there were no correlation between the changes of climactic indexes/basic indexes and GCS of patients. Conclusion There were still some funtion of anterior pituitary reserved in patients with acute craniocerebral injury.
