Objective To study the influence of Angiotension Ⅱ receptor antagonist on the expression of collagen Ⅲ collagen V and TGF- β1 on airway wall in sensitized rats and effects of Angiotension Ⅱ receptor antagonist on the airway remodelling in asthma.Methods 40 wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: normal control, sensitized groups and threapy groups 1: threapy groups 2; threapy groups 3. Sensitized groups and threapy groups 1,2,3 models of rats were sensitized and challenged by ovalbumin (OVA). Natural groups were sensitizedand and challenged by 0.9%Nacl. Threapy groups 1,2,3 rats was drenched with Valsartan at the same of challengeing. The expression of collagen Ⅲ collagen V and TGF-β1 protein detected with immunohistochemical ABC and image analysis methods. The expression of TGF-β1 mRNA.was detected with in situ hybridization.Results The collagen Ⅲ,collagen V ,TGF-β1 protein and mRNA stains were decreased significantly in sensitized groups (7.73±0.81, 1.34±0.28,20.49±3.46,29.73±3.25) as compared with control groups(2.65±0.38, 0.67±0.08, 20.49±3.46, 29.73±3.25),threapy groups 1(5.73±0.64, 1.13±0.15, 16.47±1.94, 19.41±1.87)), threapy groups 2 ( 4.96±0.51, 0.98±0.08, 14.38±1.58, 18.29±1.43) and threapy groups 3 (4.43±0.35, 0.93±0.06, 12.96±1.73, 18.63±1.11) .Conclusion Angiotension Ⅱ receptor antagonist could reduce the expression of collagen Ⅲ,collagen V, TGF-β1 protein and mRNA.so it may be postpone the process of airway remodelling.
