The Experimental Study On The Anti-respiratiory Virus Effect Of Jin Pinggan Granules

Objectives To study the effect of JPG(Traditional Chinese Medicine) on inhibition of influenza virus(IV) A/PR/8/34(HlN1) , A/Shanghai/l/98(H3N2)and Para influenza virus-2.Methods The effect of JPG on preventing and treatment of pneumonia were observed using lung index and the pathologic changes of pulmonary histology as the testing indicator in the mice model infected by IV- A/PR/8/34. The effect of JPG on inhibition of IV-A/Shanghai/1/98 harvested on chick embryo culture investigated with blood coagulation reaction in vitro. The effect of JPG on inhibition of Para influenza-2 were observed through culturing Vero cell using CPE(cell pathologic effect) and blood coagulation reaction in vitro. The antipyretic effect of JPG were observed using the febrile model of the mice induced by Yeast and effect of JPG on enhancing phagocytosis function by the test of clearance rate of carbon particles of the mice in vivo.Results The study showed that the maximal toxic concentration ofJPG could not be gained in the mice. There was significant effect on preventing and treatment of the pneumonia in mouse in the dozes of 30mg/20g and 60mg/20g per day respectively , and there was no significantly differences in the lung indexes and pulmonary histology between the two groups. JPG was better than Shuanghuanglian oral liquor and qingrejiedu oral liquor, and the differences were significant. However, there were no significant differences between JPG and virazole. JPG could prevent the rise in the rat's body temperature induced by the Yeast and promoted the clearance rate of carbon particles in normal mice. The maximal untoxic concentration of JPG was over 400g/L for chick embryo, and there was significant effect on inhibition of IV-A/Shanghai/1/98 proliferation in chick embryo between JPG(50g/L) and shuanghuanglian oral liquor (1 : 10) . However, there is no significance differences comparing with virazole(8.0g/L). The TC50 of JPG is 18.8g/L in Vero cell-It also found that JPG suppress Para influenza virus-2 proliferation validly and its treatment index was 7.83.Conclusion There was significant effect of JPG on preventing and treatment of the pneumonia of the mice infected by influenza virus A/PR/8/34 in vivo and inhibiting IV-A/Shanghai/1/98 and Para influenza virus-2 proliferation in vitro. It also had the effect of antipyretic action and regulation of the body immune system.
