The Effect Of Botulinum Toxin A Urethral Injection For The Treatment Of Obstinate Urethral Syndrome In Female

Purpose: To discuss the effect of botulinum toxin urethral injection with female urethral syndrome according to urodynamic datura. To expanse the clinical use of botulinum toxin for lower urinary tract symptom.Methods: Prospective treatment was performed for overactive urethral closure mechanism in 5 female from 2002 Aug to 2004 Feb, age 28 to 47 years old. Later ,follow-up 1-6 months, the urodynamics datum and symptom were compared with the preoperative .Result: After botulinum toxin urethral injection , the maximum urethral closure pressure, continence zone, of all patients were in momal range, residual urine and symptom was improved obviously. Frequency and urgency of micturition were relievedobviously in 4 pat Lents and improved slightly in 1 patient. Discomfort of lower abdomen disappeared in 3 patients. One patient of urinary difficulty improved slightly. Conclusions:1 , The effect of botulinum-A toxin urethral injection with overactive urethral closure mechanism is well in short period.2 The effect of botulinum-A toxin urethral injection with overactive urethral closure mechanism in long period should be further studied. The dosage of botulinum toxin, position of urethral injection, effect of second urethral injection after recurrence should be further studied too.3 Botulinum toxin urethral injection is safe to patient withfemale urethral syndrome. Neither incontinence nor otherside-effect being occured.
