Purpose: To evaluate the changes of visual function after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) with contrast sensitivity visual acuity(CSVA).Methods: 48 eyes of 24 patients were measured with CSVA chart before and 1 day, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months after LASIK respectively. The difference in CSVA between moderate&low myopic group and high myopic group would be evaluated. Results: There were significant fall in all contrast degrees in all patients at 1 day post-LASIK(P<0.05). The high myopic group had a more significant fall respectively(P<0.01). The fall were more significant in lower contrast degrees(smaller P-value) in all patients. The moderate and low myopic group' CSVA recovered to normal level at 2-week post-LASIK in all contrast degrees. The high myopic group was slightly inferior to norm until 3 months post-LASIK.Conclusion: There were CSVA reduction in all subjects afterLASIK. The quantity in CSVA reduction was relative with corrected myopic degree without any complication. CSVA measurement is more comprehensive and sensitive to the changes of visual function in post-LASIK eye with other examinations.
