Object To investigate the expression of peroxisome proliferator activated receptors(PPARs) in experimental fatty liver.To study the role of PPARs on the machanism of fatty liver.To find ont the mechanism of fatty liver prevated by xiao chaihu decoction(XCHD).Methods Experimental fatty liver rats models were induced by carbon tetrachloride.Serum lipid profile was measured by enzymological techneque in all three groups.Liver tissue PPAR mRNA and PPAR mRNA expression were analysed by peverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results Expression of PPAR mRNA and PPAR mRNA were observed in liver tissue of all three groups.Hyperlipidemia was observed in fatty liver rats.In this group,hepatic PPAR mRNA expression was gradually down regulated compared with normal control(P<0.01),PPAR Y mRNA expression was gradually upregulated compared with normal control(P<0.01).In XCHD group, PPAR mRNA expression was gradually up regulated compared with fatty liver group(P<0.01),and had no obvious change in normal control(P>.05), PPAR mRNA expression was gradually down regulated compared with fatty liver group(P<0.01),and had no obvious change in normal control(P>.05).Conclusion Expression of PPARs correlative with the occarrence of fatty liver.Xiao Chaohu decoction played an important role in prevate fatty liver.
