The Human Genome Project (HGP), the international research effort that determined the DNA sequence of the entire human genome, completed in April 2003. How to using the data obtained by it and finding gene's regulatory system is a real challenge for the scientists. One of the key problems of tumor gene therapy is how to regulate target gene to specially express in the tumor. A solution for this problem is applying tumor peculiar promoter. Hence how to finding tumor peculiar promoter is a very important aspect.A rapid increase in the number of DNA sequences as the result of HGP has made it urgent that computational methods are needed to help identify tumor peculiar promoter in the sequences. This will be helpful for tumor gene therapy and identifying functional gene's regulatory system. In this work, the function of promoter is discussed and some important biological databanks are introduced. We propose two approaches to recognition of tumor gene promoters by using transcription factor binding sites. The method is checked and test result shown that the recognition method was effective to predict tumor peculiar promoter in the sequence. The main objective is as follows:1. Studied on the biological sequence data obtained from biological databank through internet. Depending on the sequence obtained, we focused on the information mining in the sequence.2. Studied on the method to recognize tumor peculiar promoter. By means of computational methods, we laid the foundation of gene regulatory system research.
