ObjectivePropofol and lidocaine have the protective effect on cerebral by many approach. To research the effect of lidocaine on cerebral oxygen balance of supply-consumption and plasma glucose and lactic acid metabolism during propofol total intravenous anesthesia in patients with supratentorial tumor, and assess whether the two medicine have cooperative function on this condition.Methods24 patients with supratentorial tumor were randomly divided into two groups :lidocaine group (group A, n=12 ) and control group (group B, n=12). lidocaine, pipecuronium,Innovar, propofol were used by intravenous anesthesia inducement and maintain in group A. Intravenous anesthesia inducement and maintain in group B were the same as group A except lidocaine . Blood gas analysis and plasma lactic acid and glucose were measured from radial artery and internal jugular venous bulb blood at these moment :before anesthesia inducement (TO) ,endotracheal intubation instanter (T1) operation of separating tumor (T2 ) operation of excising tumor (T3 ) ,operation of sewing duramater (T4) .Results(1) SjvO2,CjvO2, ajvDCO2,OER,jvLac,aLac,jvaDLac and LacPR were significantly lower or higher at Tl than these at TO in both group, and there were significant difference on SjvO2,ajvDCO2,OER at Tl between group (P< 0.05) .(2) CjvO2,CaO2,Hb,jvLac,aLac,jvaDLac and LacPR at T2,T3,T4 were lower than that at TO in both group and ajvDCO2 at T2,T3 were lower than that at T0 in group B (P<0.05) .(3) There was no statistically difference between the two groups, and no statistically difference between T1,T2,T3,T4and T0 in other parameter (P> 0.05) .Conclusion(1) There were significantly influence on cerebral oxygen balance of supply-consumption and plasma lactic acid metabolism during anesthesia inducement and endotracheal intubation using propofol and lidocaine can inhibit the response of cerebral oxygen balance of supply-consumption but plasma lactic acid metabolism in patients with supratentorial tumor.(2) There were significantly influence on cerebral oxygen balance of supply-consumption and plasma lactic acid metabolism during operation ,and could not inhibit the response by lidocaine application.(3) The function of sympathetic nerve could be inhibited completely and did not arouse plasma glucose increase on the condition of total intravenous anesthesia by propofol whether applied lidocaine or not.
