Methods: the expression of E-cad and MMP-2 was immunohistochemically investigated in 30 specimens of eutopic endometrium and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis, 30 specimens of endometrial carcinoma and 16 specimens of normal endometrium. Results: The expression of E-cad in specimens of eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and endometrial carcinoma is significantly lower than that of normal endometrium (P<0.05, P<0.01), and the expression of E-cad in ectopic endometrium is significantly lower than that of eutopic endometrium ( P < 0.01). The expression of MMP-2 in specimens of ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis is significantly higher than that of eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and normal endometrium (P<0.01, P<0.01), and the expression of MMP-2 in endometrial carcinoma is significantly higher than that of normal endometrium (P<0.01). There was not significant difference of the expression of E-cad and MMP-2 between human adenomyosis and endometrial carcinoma ( P>0.05). There is significant correlation between the expression of MMP-2 in specimens of ectopic of adenomyosis and the dysmenorrheal due to adenomyosis (rs=0.398. P<0.05) . Conclution: The abnormal expression of E-cad and MMP-2 might be correlated with the similar biological behavior between human adenomyosis and endometrial carcinoma. The abnormal expression of MMP-2 in ectopic endomelrium of adenomyosis might berelated to the dysmenorrheal due to adenomyosis. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | adenomyosis, endometrial carcinoma, E-cad, MMP-2, immunohistochemistry | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
