The concept of using replicating viruses as anticancer agents is Viral oncolysis . These kind of viruses mentioned above are oncolytic viruses.Bluetongue Virus (BTV) infect cells that manifest an activated Ras-Signaling pathway, and have been shown to effectively destroy many different types of neoplastic cells , including those derived from brain breast and lung. Objective: In this study , we investigated the BTV- Hbc3 as a potential therapeutic agent against MA782 malignancy . Methods: At first , MA782-cell was tested for susceptibility to BTV- Hbc3 infection. For in vitro studies, the cells were challenged with BTV- Hbc3 and viral infection was assessed by cytopathic effects and viability. We present evidence of efficient BTV- Hbc3 infection and cell lysis in the MA782 cell line. Moreover, when MA782 cell line was grown subcutaneously in mice and subsequently injected with BTV-Hbc3 intratumorally . Results: significant regression was observed in the MA782 - induced tumor, Which is consistentwith the in vitro results. Conclusion: Our results suggest that BTV- Hbc3 maybe an effective agent against several types of malignancies.
