CAD/CAM technology applied in dental cosmetology will substitute for the traditional manual prosthetics, but there are little dental CAD/CAM systems used in China at present. Under this background, this paper made an integral design on the dental CAD/CAM system, which meets for China's situation, and some related technologies had been researched primarily. The major content of this paper is summed as follows:Analyzed and referenced to the two representative dental CAD/CAM systems. According to domestic fact, this paper put forward four principles for design of the dental CAD/CAM systems, and made the integral planning of the system on this basis.Analyzed the machining movement, and made the integral planning of the numerical control machine tool.Put forward that integrate the CAD system with CAM system by the IGES interface, and studied on the format of the IGES files for its development in the future.According to the dental statistics, this paper divided all the 28 teeth into four groups, and designed their roughs for each group, thereby, cut down the machining margin, enhanced the machining efficiency, and saved the tools.Discussed the planning methods of the tool path, presented the calculating steps and the main cutting parameters in detail.Done simulative machining tests on crown and abutment, providing some theoretic foundation for practical machining in the future.
