| Plaster is mostly used for medical fixing or orthoraedic. But It's heavy, airtight and difficult to dismantle. In this paper ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA) was blended with high density polyetnylene(HDPE) and poly- caprocactone(PCL) in order to obtain a new medical fixing material that can take place of Plaster.The relative effects of blends proportioning to the blends' tensile strength, tensile modulus, breaking elongation and shape memory function had been dicussed by the auther, so had been done for the effect of DCP's amounts being used. Their morphological structures were also studied .The following results were obtained:1) Blends of EVA80/HDPE20 and EVA80/HDPE20/PCL10 showed good shape memory function when 0.5% DCP was added to the blends.2) Shape fixing rate of EVA/HDPE/PCL/DCP was significantly increased and softening point was decreased when 10% PCL was added.3 ) X-ray diffraction showed that the cry stallinity of EVA/HDPE/PCL blends weredecreased when DCP was added. 4) DSC and SEM research showed that good shape memory function ofEVA/HDPE/PCL blends probably due to it's microphase separation. The results of this paper provide good reference to the application of medical fixing materials which made of shape memory polymers. |
