Objective To evaluate the significance of c-Myc, cyclinE and cyclinDi, Rb expression in breast carcinoma and the relationship among the four proteins. Methods 57 cases of human breast cancer (30 cases of invasive ductal carcinoma.6 cases of invasive lobular carcinoma, 2 cases of medullary carcinoma and 19 cases of intraductal carcinoma) were studied for c-Myc, cyclinE and cyclinDi, Rb expression with immunohistochemical method. Results 1. The positive rate of c-Myc, cyclinE and cyclinDi expression in the breast cancer were higher than those of fibroadenoma (p<0.05); For the Rb protein, in the breast cancer, the positive rate was 61.19%, but in the fibroadenoma, it was 86.67%, there was a significant difference between them (p<0.05). 2 In the invasive ductal carcinoma, there was a positive relationship between the expression of cyclinE and c-Myc.3. In the intraductal carcinoma, a positive relationship between the expression of cyclinDi and Rb was found. Conclusions 1. In the different phases of the invasive ductal carcinoma, the pathogenesis of cell cycle abonomility might be different.2. In the intraductal cancer, the cyclinD) overexpression maybe partly is dependent on the Rb expression. 3. The abnormality of cell cycle regulatory in the breast cancer caused by c-Myc might be the later molecular event.
