The Relationship And Clinical Value Between The Expression Of Thymidine Phosphorylase And Angiogenesis In Advanced Gastric Cancer

Objective: To study the relationship of the expressionof thymidine phosphorylase(TP) with the degree of differentiation and intratumaral microvessel density in advanced gastrc anrcinoma.Method : The express i on o f TP i n 60 cases with advancedgastric cacinoma and 30 cases with normal gastric mucosa was measured by method of SP of immunohistoche-mistry. 1ntratumora1 microvessel density was immunohistochemically detected using the method of SP of anti-CD31 monoclonal antibody. The expression of TP:ling half-quantity integral calculus method ,I point meant the proportion of dyed cell was less than l/3;2 point meant of that was between 1/3 to 2/3;3 point meant the proportion of that was more than 2/3. The degree of dye:0 point meant there was no dyed cell ;I point meant light yellow;2 point meant brown yellow. We defermined the positivedegree with the point of the both altogether 0-3 point was negative;more than 4 point was positive.The method of IMVD count:Tho first was to find the high density of the dyed micro-vessel using lowmultiple microscope in each section.Then is to count the microvessel in selected 4 frelds of vision using high multiple microscope.Finallywas to calculate the mean.Results: The level of TP of cancer cell was more thanthat ofnoral gastric epithelial cell (P<0.05) ;IMVD of the TP-positive group was significantly higher than the TP-negative group;There is no difference hetween the level of TP in well-differentiated and poor-differentiated carcinoma (P>0.05) ;Than is significant difference of the IP-positive proportion amang different invasion of gastric carcinoma(P < 0.05);The TP-positive proportion is significantly different between transitted lymph node and untransitted lymph node (P< 0. 05).Conclusion: The expression of TP in advanced gastriccarcinoma is closely correlated with angiogenesis the invasion and the trasition of lymph node,and it irrelevant to its differentiation and the difference of koreans and hans.
