Objeutive: To investigate the effect of Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucle oproteins(hnRNPs) on the diagnosis of lung cancer and evaluate the posibility of its practical use in clinical work. Methods: 180 sputum of inpatients and outpatients who habor malign(90cases) or benign(90cases) lung tumor were studied after devided into two groups: lung cancer group and Non-lung cancer group. Sputum was fixed by saccomanno solution and thinned by DTT, the sputum smear slides were used for immunohistologic reaction with ABC method. , observe the nuclea brown stained by DAB and determine the results. Results: Positive rate of hnRNP A2/B1 antibody in epithelial cells from lung cancer patient's sputum is 47. 7%, compared with its counterpart 17. 7% in Non-lung cancer group. But there is no sharp difference between the positive rate of cell histopathology and hnRNP A2/B1 antibody ,the positive rate of each is 45% and 47.7% respectively (p>0.05). Conclusion: The application of hnRNP A2/B1 in lung cancer clinical diagnosis is limited by its lengthy protocol and low positive rate, It can be an option when the specimen is clinically suspected.
