The Characteristic Of Angiography Of Uterine Fibroid And The Significance Of Uterine Artery Embolization

Objective: For less invasiveness and better curative effect, uterine artery embolization has been applied in clinical therapy for many years and accept by many patients, our purpose is draw the conclusion from study the angiographical characteristic of 75 patients (Therapy Team) and 80 patients (Contrast Team), evaluate its clinical significance, applied in the clinical therapy ,to improve Uterine Artery Embolization.Methods: 75 patients (Therapy Team, average age 41.2 years old) and 80 women (Contrast Team, average age 43.8 years old) were included in this study. The diagnosis was assumed by clinical symptoms, B ultrasound and/or CT imaging. Among the Therapy Team, 9 patients had fibroids laying under mucous membrane, 50 patients in the myometrium, 16 patients under serous membrane; 21 patients have single fibroid, 54 patients have multiple fibroids. Puncture the right femoral artery and the angiography of bilateral uterine artery was performed. The content of we observed is: the origination of the uterineartery, its branches especially the ovarian branch, the supply artery of fibroid, and the angiographical characteristic of uterine fibroids of different types. Then UAE was performed. Results: Because of thinner uterine artery, 1 patient has not performed UAE, the technique successful rate is 98.7%. l.In Therapy Team and Contrast Team, the uterine arteries originate from the trunk of inferior gluteal and internal pudendal artery are 93 patients and 87 patients, respectively (The 95% CL is 55.32%~60.97% ) ; from the internal iliac artery are 42 patients and 55patients respectively (The 95% CL is 26.18%~36.52%); and from superior gluteal artery are 15 patients and 18 patients, respectively. (The 95%CL is 8.91%~12.49%), the two teams have no difference in statistics. (P>0.05) 2.the uterine artery has many branches: the branch of cervices ,the branch of vagina ,the branch of oviduct and the branch of ovarian, among of them , the ovarian branch seems more important than other branches. In Therapy Team, the ovarian branch of uterine artery can be seen in 114 ovarian branches of uterine artery, among of them, 2 ovarian arteries are showed conversely, 36 ovarian branches of uterine artery can not seen, comparison to the Therapy Team, in Contrast Team 147 ovarian branches of uterine artery are seen (The 95%CL is 89.71%~94.03%) and 27 branches ovarian arteries show, conversely (The 95%CL isl3.92%~19.24%). the Therapy Team have the significant...
