Clinical Study Of Insulin-like Growth Factor-I In Patients With Chronic Cor Pulmonale

ObjectiveTo elucidate pathophysiologic significance of IGF - â…  in CCP,we measured the serum levels of IGF - â…  both in acute exacerbation and remission stages in 30 cases of CCP and analyse its correlation with PaO₂.MethodsCCP group comprising 30 patients was classified into two groups (acute exacerbation and remission stages) according to their clinicial presentation. 25 gender - and age - matched healthy subjects served as a normal control group. The serum IGF - â…  levels were detected by radioimmunoassay. PaO₂ were detected by arterial blood gas assay.ResultsThe serum IGF - â…  levels in the acute exacerbation stage were higher than those in the remission stage (p <0. 01).
