Objective :To study the CT, MR imaging appearances in a series of intracranial primary central nervous system lymphoma. Material methods:A retrospective analysis of CT, MR examinations was performed in 31 intracranial primary central nervous system lymphomas which were determined by pathology and clinical dates ,these were then compared with the imaging findings in a non-lymphoma group of histologically proved 30 cases of malignant gliomas and 30 cases of metastasis. Observeing findings as follow:(l) Location of lesions ,distributing of lesions .(2)Dense and signal intense of tumors, cyst formation of lesions.(3)Modality of lesions.(4)Edema around lesions. Performed statistic test to compare the differences in two groups. Results: Intracranial primary central nervous system lymphoma may be soiltary or mutiple .Lesions presented as an isodense to hyperdense on CT scan , hypointense on T1 - weighted images and isointense or hyperintense on T2 - weighted images. Most lesions showed dense homogenous enhancement on CT and MR.There was significant difference ( P < 0.01) between lymphoma group and non-lymphoma group in terms of ,cyst formation, DWI signal intensity , modality of lesions. Conclusion: Intracranial primary central nervous system lymphoma has various appearances of images, where as ,there is the characteristic feature of intracranial lymphoma.
