Objective The aim of this study is to research whether it is a effective way to find colorectal cancer lymph nodes micrometastase by examining the expression of cytokeratin20 with Immunohistochemistry , and to research the impact of the lymph node micrometastasis on the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. Methods Specimens were collected from Tai Yuan Hospital between 1994 and 2003. All the 331 lymph nodes of 47 patients were examined again with immunohistochemistry to detect the colorectal cancer lymph nodes micrometastase by examining the expression of cytokeratin20 ,all the patients were followed. Results The tumor cells in colorectal cancer lymph nodes were found by immunohistchemis -try and routine hematoxylin -eosin staining separately, but the positive rate is very different , the immunohistchemistry method is higher sensitivity than hematoxylin -eosin staining (X2=24.04 P<0.01). With immunohistochemistry, we found the significant different of micrometastases positive cases between sentinel lymph node and all the lymph nodes in the same team(X =5.73 P <...
