Hepatic dysfunction during gestational period is characterized by elevated serum transaminases and(or) hyperbilirubin,abnormal level of bile acid. It can increase maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality because it is linked with premature birth,postpartum hemorrhage,fetal distress in uterus,DIC,hepatic and renal failure. So more and more attention have been paid to it recently. We analyze the common causes of hepatic dysfunction associated with pregnancy, clinical feature, prognosis and current management practices by reviewing the material of 126 patients . Objictive and methods: To analyze the etiological factor of hepatic dysfunction during gestational period, and explore its effect on the mother and baby. 126 cases with hepatic dysfunction in preganancy between 1998.7 and 2004.9, diagnosed by clinical, biochemical, were selected. the cause of hepatic dysfunction during gestational period and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed. Results: of the 126 cases of pregnancy, viral hepatitis was present in 79 cases (63%), in whom postpartum hemorrhage rates increase significantly (p<0.05); and ICP was present in 22, in whom cesarean and fetal distress in uterus rates increased obviously (p<0.05).
