AbstractEsophageal chemical burn is common on the clinic, whichadvanced complications include esophageal stensis, esophageal-trachea fistula esophageal-trachea fistula, and so on. It has someparticularity and difficulty on treatment, currently there is a lot ofcuring methods, but it hasn/t come into being a unitive and validmean, and is still a nodus in the chest surgery. Therefore it isnecessary to make further study and research to its curing method.【Objective】: To discuss protection and treatment esophagealchemical burn and advanced syndrome including esophagealstenosis, esophageal-trachea and fistula and esophageal-pleurafistula, and compare these curing mathods. To introduce theesophageal dilatation, the laser treatment, the microwave treatment,intraluminal esophageal silicon gum stent, memorial metalalloy oesophagus stent etc. Surgical is important in curingesophageal chemical burn and advanced syndrome.【Methods】:Study was carried on 32 patients age from8-78(male13 ,female 19) with esophageal chemical burn.2 patients ingestedpesticide whereas the remaining ingested acidic or causticsolutions.21 patients had esophageal stenosis, 5 had cardiacontracture, 3 had esophageal-trachea fistula, I had esophageal-pleura fistula, and the remaining developed stridor andinspiratory dyspnea. 8 patients were treated withesophageal dilatation,7 patients were subjected withgastrostomy,6 patients were underwent intraluminalesophageal stent,5 patients were treated by esophagec-tomy and intrathoacic esophagastrostomy, 3 cases weretreated by colon interposition,2 cases were repaired withintercostals myocutaneous,and 1 case were treated byskin-tract and jejunum interposition. 【Results】:Thirty-two cases were followed up for halfto 45 years. 3 cases died, 1 case developed esophagealleakage after intraluminal esophageal stent, 1 casedeveloped anastomotic stenosis, who was cured byesophageal dilatation, and the remaining recovered normaldiet.
