Recently, the patients of Spinal cord injury (SCI) resulted by road accident, earthquake and crash are dramatically increasing. The majority of these patientsare between 20 and 31. Serious SCI will bring heavy economic burden for patientsand society. Therefore, many scientists have focused their interest on this field andhave acquired important new insights in treating SCI related diseases, while themolecular mechanisms responsible for repair of the injured spinal cord are poorlyunderstood. The goal of this research has been specially designed to study themolecular mechanisms related to repair of the injured spinal cord.It is crucial to build a model, reproducing the process of the neuronal injuryand regeneration, to throw light on the molecular mechanism of the neuronalregeneration. To achieve this goal, we have established an in vitro model by whichthe cultured neurons were injured. Base on this model, the cDNA subtractivehybridization were applied to obtain the genes expresses or over-expressed afterinjured. We have identified and analyzed these genes by bioinformatics. Theprocess includes genome location, ORF finding, anticipating function domain andso on. Finally, we find out four novel genes and four known genes. Four novelgenes have been termed as SCIRR10, SCIRR13, SCIRR22 and SCIRR27.SCIRR10 coding protein contains a Cytochrome b5-like Heme/Steroid bindingdomain. SCIRR13 coding protein contains a Domain of unknown function.SCIRR22 coding protein contains a Epidermal growth factor-like domain.SCIRR27 coding protein contains a tob/btg1 family domain. Four known genes areβ-synuclein proteins (Sncb), Gabrd, Clu and Microtubule-associated protein 1B.Sncb is a small, soluble protein expressed primarily in neural tissue and in certaintumors. Sncb knockout mice show that synucleins are not essential components ofthe basic machinery for neurotransmitter release but may contribute to thelong-term regulation and/or maintenance of presynaptic function. Gabrd are a...
