Objective: To evaluate mandibul asymmetry and temporomandibular joint in face asymmetry adult patients with unilateral mastication diffence, and the effect of them for growth. Methods: In this study, 20patients with unilateral mastication were as experiment group and compare with 20patients normal occlusion. Submenta vertex radiographs, three-dimensional reconstruction by computerized tomogmghy, measurement of dental models was performed. Results: The mandible group exhibited significant asymmetry both experiment group and contrast group, Condylar position was not significant asymmetry in anterior and posterior space of TMJ between the experiment group and the contrast group. The dental arch were symmetry in upper and lower of the experiment group. The anterior and the posterior space of TMJ, the length of full mandibleandthe dental arches in upper and lower were significant asymmetry between the masticatory side and not masticatory side. Conclusion: the mandible shifted and roated, the TMJ would rebuilt. The position and the length of the mandible changed, the upper and the lower were asymmetry. Compensation of teeth appeared.
