Along with the increasing of obese population around the world, obesity has become one of the fatal diseases to human being. The mechanism of obesity is very complex and is impacted by both environmental and genetic factors.Our studies were to evaluate the effect of neuropeptide Y (NPY) and agouti-related protein (AgRP) in the process in which rats develop to diet-induced obesity (DIO) or diet resistant (DR). After being fed with high-fat diet for 14 weeks, the rats showing higher body weight and lower body weight were assigned as DIO and DR group, respectively. Food intake was measured daily. The expression of NPY and AgRP in the arcuate nucleus of hypothalamus was analyzed via immunohistochemistry.The main results are as follows:1.
