Objective: To investingate the regulating role of voltage-gated potassium channels(Kv), large-conductance calcium-activated potassium channels(BKca), ATP-sensitive K+ channels(KATP) on smooth muscle cells in the rat gut, and the effects of paeoniflorin. Methods: Smooth muscle cells were isolated from the muscle layers of Wistar rat stomach and jejunum. Blockers of different type of potassium channels were applied and cell lengh was measured by computerized image micrometry.
