| Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy(DPN) is a frequently-occurring disease with complicated clinical symptoms,it is common seen in above-middle-aged Diabetic Mellitus(DM) patients.Up to now, although there are so many therapeutic methods to heel this disease, therapeutic effects of most of them are not determined. To seek an effective way to treat this disease,we had a research on the therapeutic effects of DPN and influence on peripheral nerve conduction velocity by three different kinds of acupuncture therapies.Methods:54 cases of DPN were randomly divided into 3 groups. The group I were treated by basical treatment plus acupuncture, the group II were treated by basical treatment plus point injection, and the group III were treated by basical treatment plus tapping with plum-blossom needles. There was no significant difference in statement of illness, disease course, age and sex among three groups. We observed the changes of their peripheral nerve conduction velocity and Neurological Symptom Score (NSS). Results: The total validity rates were 56.25% in group I , 76.47% in group II and 85.71% in group III, there had significant difference among three groups (P< 0.05), also peripheral nerve conduction velocity and NSS had significantly improved (P<0.05)。 Conclusions: All of the three different kinds of acupuncture therapies can improve the clinical symptoms and peripheral nerve conduction velocities of DPN patients, the total validity of group III is the best;each of these three kinds of acupuncture therapies has its own advantage, acupuncture is good at improving dyskinesias; point injection is good at improving dystrophy of skin; tapping with... |
