Cell Apoptosis And Expression Of The Correlation Gene BCL-2 And BAX In Olfactory Epithelium Of Patients Suffering From Dysosmia Caused By Chronic Sinusitis And Nasal Polyp

Objective To study the cell apoptosis and expression of the correlation gene BCL-2and BAX in olfatory epithelium of the patients suffering from dysosmia caused bychronic sinusitis and nasal polyp.Methods By the means of immunohistochemistry s-p methods and TUNEL( TdT-mediatied dUTP nick end labeling ) ,we studied the correlation genein the apoptosis BCL-2 and BAX and apoptosis index (AI)in the olfactoryepithelium of 26 patients suffering from chronic sinusitis and that in 10 cases ofnormal olfactory epithelium .Result 1) the expression of BCL-2 and BAX in the olfactory epithelium of 26patients suffering from the dysosmia was higher than that in the control group(p<0.05);2)but in the olfactory epithelium of 26 cases of patients ,the expressionof BAX was higher than that of BCL-2(P<0.05).3) At the same time ,the apoptosis index(AI) in the olfactory epitheliumof the 26 cases suffering from dysosmia was higher than that in the controlgroup(p<0.05).Conclusion 1)There is notable apoptosis in the olfactory mucosa of thepatients suffering from the dysosmia caused by chronic sinusitis and nasalpolyp.2)And the expression of BCL-2 and BAX plays a important role in theapoptosis .3)The study of cell apoptosis and the regulation of apoptosis inthe olfactory epithelium layers of the patients suffering from the dysosmiacaused by chronic sinusitis and nasal polyp will help us to explore themachanism of these dysosmia,and this study will provide us a new concept oftherapy approach of the dysosmia caused by chronic sinusitis and nasal polys.
