The traditional ways to treat aphasiacs, who have a language disorder that results from damage to portions of the brain that are responsible for language in the case of a brain tumor, stroke or encephalic infection, include medication-Chinese traditional medicine or Western medicine -, naturopathy-needle therapy -, and Speech Training. The clinical reasons and mechanism that result to aphasia are various. So one of the most important aphasia researching direction is that a kind of aphasia therapy instrument system will be designed, which is intellectualized, miniaturization and extendable. In this paper, the author introduced the general classification of the aphasia, the therapy approaches, correlative theories and techniques about speech signal processing technology applying to aphasia treatment, and a series of speech signal processing methods and algorithms. Author proposed a new aphasia feedback treatment method that utilized biofeedback including vision, hearing and psycho-activity promotion based on speech signal processing and computer multi-media technology. And studied on, 1.Speech signal real-time acquisition, waveform displaying, storage and playback. 2.Implemented speech synthesis, TTS(Text to Speech), speech storage and load. 3.Speech preprocessing, including signal pre-emphasis, windowed and framed and end-point detection algorithm. 4.Speech feature coefficients extraction and analysis, including short-time energy, short time Auto Correlation, Linear Prediction Coefficient (LPC), LPC Cepstrum (LPCC) and LPCC Mel Cepstrum. And the implement of the speech pitch detection algoritm. 5.Proposed a speech multi-feature measure algorithm by calculating DTW distance about speech features. 6.Desgned and implemented the data management of the patients'cases, speech exercise results, exercise courses and exercise materials, including inputting, query, modification and printing etc. 7.Spectromgram dynamic displaying and generation. The aphasia therapy rehabilitation instrument system is based on biofeedback principle, speech signal processing, and computer multi-media technology. It integrated a set of speech training methods and computer multimedia technology. It is a new rehabilitation therapy tool for aphasiacs.
