OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the values of a new sleep respiratory monitoring device - HypnoPTT for diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and to decide the optimal diagnostic point of HypnoPTT. METHODES: 147 patients with snoring were included. Each of them was diagnosed by an overnight polysomnography (PSG), and the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) was the golden standard for diagnosing OSAHS. At the same time these patients accepted the monitoring of HypnoPTT, and got the PTT-AHI.RESULTS: There was a significant correlation between the PTT-AHI and the PSG-AHI (r=0.973,p<0.001). According the diagnostic standard of OSAHS (PSG-AHI≥5/h), we draw a received operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and found PTT-AHI≥8/h was the optimal diagnostic point for HypnoPTT. For this score the sensitivity was 97.5%, and the specificity was 90.5%. The stratified score were the following: PTT-AHI < 3/h, +LR=0.019; 3 < PTT-AHI≤7/h, +LR=0.039; 7 15/h,+LR=16.98. CONCLUSIONS: The HypnoPTT has a high value in diagnosing OSAHS.
